Warhol’s first European retrospective was a multimedia installation in Stockholm. The exhibition’s subtitle placed the accompanying book on equal footing with his other works. The book had a dual function. It was a catalogue of the exhibition and an artwork itself– an ambiguousness shared by other late 1960’s publications associated with conceptual art. The Stockholm book involved a team of curators and designers, notably Kasper Konig who was a New York based dealer with an important firm in Cologne that published many artist’s books
